Dr Anthony Cao
MBBS FRACGP
Cert General Dermatology

Dr Anthony Cao graduated from the University of New South Wales. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and holds a certificate in General Dermatology.

Dr Cao has a particular interest in skin cancer checks and minor skin procedures, as well as men’s health, sexual health, chronic disease management, and Workers’ Compensation cases.

He is currently accepting new patients.

Dr Cao offers bulk-billed consultations for patients with a valid Medicare card; however, procedures may incur out of pocket fees.

Dr Chitralekha Pandit
MBBS, FRACGP

Dr. Chitralekha Pandit is a dedicated Australian-based General Practitioner with a special interest in women’s health and antenatal care. Known for her warm, patient-centred approach, she provides compassionate and comprehensive care to women and families at every stage of life.

Dr. Pandit offers shared antenatal care and is affiliated exclusively with the Royal Hospital for Women in Randwick for maternity-related care. She supports expectant mothers through all stages of pregnancy in collaboration with the hospital’s antenatal services.

In addition to antenatal care, Dr. Pandit provides a wide range of general practice services, including:

  • Women’s health checks
  • Cervical screening
  • Children’s health and development
  • Mental health care
  • Chronic disease management
  • General health assessments and check-ups

Dr. Pandit is passionate about empowering women with the knowledge and support they need throughout their healthcare journey — from pregnancy through to motherhood and beyond. Her patients value her thoughtful, thorough, and holistic approach to care.

Dr Hiran Edirisinghe
MBBS(QLD) FRACGP MMED DCH DPD

Dr Hiran Edirisinghe is an experienced specialist General Practitioner with experience in all areas of general practice. He graduated from University of Queensland in 1998 and worked in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney as a senior clinician.

He has a special interest in ADHD (initial assessment and continuation of therapy).

Dr Kathy Thimakis
MBBS,FRACGP, SCHP

Dr Kathy Thimakis graduated from Western Sydney University in 2018 and has worked in a range of settings including St George Hospital, Sutherland Hospital, Sydney Children’s Hospital, and rural general practice.

She has a special interest in women’s and children’s health and holds the Sydney Child Health Diploma as well as the FPAA National Certificate in Sexual and Reproductive Health. Dr Thimakis is also trained in Implanon insertion and removal.

She is fluent in Greek and is passionate about providing compassionate, inclusive care to patients of all ages.

Dr Litsa Zavras
MBBS

Dr Litsa Zavras graduated from University of Sydney in 1980 with Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS). Dr Zavras is an Antenatal Shared Care provider. She speaks Greek and English fluently.

Dr Elaine Hoang
MBBS (Syd), FRACGP

Dr. Elaine Hoang is a highly experienced and dedicated general practitioner who has been serving the community with compassion and clinical excellence for over two decades. A graduate of the University of Sydney (1997), Dr. Hoang began her medical career at Wollongong Hospital and Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital before joining Botany Medical Centre in 2002, where she has been a valued and long-standing member of the team.

Dr. Hoang has a broad scope of practice with special interests in women’s health, chronic disease management, skin health and dermatology, and minor surgical procedures. She is known for her thorough and patient-centred approach to care.

In addition to her general practice expertise, Dr. Hoang has a strong interest in mental health and is authorised to provide continuation prescriptions for ADHD medication for patients who have already been formally diagnosed by a paediatrician or psychiatrist. (Please note: she does not provide initial ADHD assessments or diagnosis.)

Beyond her clinical work, Dr. Hoang is deeply committed to giving back to the community. She volunteers with both the Rotary Club and The Vietnam Health Association, supporting health initiatives locally and abroad. Outside of medicine, she enjoys music, travel, and engaging with different cultures.

Dr Nan Gu
MBBS

Dr Nan Gu graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery(MBBS). While working here at Botany Medical Centre, Dr Gu has used her knowledge and skills to tailor her patients healthcare for a better health outcome. She has many years experience as a General Practitioner and Botany Medical Centre looks forward to continuing the ongoing relationship with her! Dr Gu speaks English and Chinese fluently.

Dr Haresh Vyas
MBBS, MD, DCH, DIP PAED, FRACGP

Dr. Haresh Vyas is a highly experienced general practitioner with over 40 years in medical practice, including more than two decades serving the local community in Sydney. He has undertaken extensive hospital-based training across several major institutions, including Royal North Shore, St George, and Liverpool Hospitals. He also worked as a Paediatric Registrar at Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick, and holds a Diploma in Child Health.

Dr. Vyas became a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) in 2007 and has continued to expand his expertise with postgraduate certifications in Primary Care Skin Cancer Medicine (University of Queensland) and Sexual and Reproductive Health (Family Planning NSW). He has also completed additional training in mental health, reflecting his commitment to providing holistic, patient-centred care.

Dr. Vyas has a particular interest in paediatrics, chronic disease management, mental health, and skin cancer detection and treatment. He is also authorised to prescribe continuation ADHD medication for patients who have been formally diagnosed by a paediatrician or psychiatrist.

Outside of his clinical work, Dr. Vyas enjoys spending quality time with his family, listening to music, and following cricket.

Dr Andre Brody
FRACGP

Andre graduated in South Africa in 1992 with a medical degree from The University of Pretoria.
Post graduation he left South Africa to work in Namibia and Canada for 2 years, gaining experience from the broad range that rural medicine had to offer.

He thrived in rural medicine and the diversity it offered and being the first level of patient contact in a primary health setup, it was a challenge he thoroughly enjoyed

This lead him to do locums in rural South-East Queensland for 2 years before taking up the full time position of medical superintendent at the Charleville Base hospital in Queensland from 1998 till 2005 During that time he passed the RACGP exam and obtained his fellowship to the College of General Practitioners as well as he became an Australian citizen.

He was exposed to the whole spectrum that rural medicine had to offer and became an integral part of the outback community getting involved in fund raising and charitable work. He had a close working relationship with the RFDS who was also based in town.

His interests include paediatrics, women’s and men’s health, chronic disease management, geriatric medicine and mental health.

He moved to Botany in 2008 and has been employed as a full time private practitioner in this bay side community ever since then

He enjoys being involved in the continuing care of his patient and feels rewarded when offered
the opportunity to assist his patients in a variety of circumstances that life might bring up.

Dr Stamatios Ktenas
MBBS FRACGP

Dr Stamatios Ktenas is a graduate of the University of New South Wales and has been a doctor for 30 years. He obtained his fellowship in the RACGP (FRACGP) in 1998. He has extensive experience in General Practice and has been working full time in the field since 1996.

Dr Dzu Nguyen
MBBS FRACGP

Dr Dzu Nguyen graduated from the University of Sydney in 1991. He has previously worked in Lidcombe-Bankstown Hospital, as well as working in country NSW in the rural area on Coonabarabran and on the Central Coast before founding Botany Medical Centre in 1995.

Dr Nguyen has extensive experience in General Practice though he has special interests in rural medicine, chronic disease management and health, men’s health and sports medicine.

Dr Sonjoy Biswas
MBBS, FRACGP

Dr Biswas graduated from Bangladesh. He completed Australian Medical Council Examinations. He worked in different hospitals and general practice settings before being in Botany Medical Centre. He has also obtained his fellowship from The Royal Australian Collage of General Practitioner. He is a general practitioner with special interest in chronic disease management, men’s health.

Dr. Biswas offers bulk billing appointment for patients with Medicare card.
